There is no BC Liberal Party..

…there is apparently just a party pretending to be Conservative-lite using that particular name.

Faced with continuing dreadful poll numbers, BC Premier Christy Clark has decided to postpone the Fall Sitting of the legislature and won’t recall it till probably February 2013. That means the legislature will not have sat for 9 months by the time it gets recalled.

Apparently, Premier Clark has decided that if the Federal Conservative Party can get a minor poll boost from not having Parliament sit in session.. 9 months ought to do her party the trick.

I’m not sure what has happened to the BC Liberal Party, but it is not a Liberal Party […]

On the cusp of electoral reform in BC.

I saw news about this poll yesterday at several different blogs, and as a supporter of electoral reform, of course I’m very happy to see this:

Harmonizing more then just carbon taxes.

I caught this story over at Steve’s place last night about Liberal leader Stephane Dion talking to BC Premier Gordon Campbell about harmonizing the 2 carbon taxes in order to make sure they work together and don’t overlap.

I would also not be surprised if there wasn’t talk of harmonizing on another matter – that being to both BC and the federal Liberals to respond equally forcefully on attacks the federal Conservatives under Stephen Harper will lead on Dion’s “Green Shift”.
