Update on Hurricane Helena

Urgent Dispatch from the Canadian Hurricane Service:

Helena has been downgraded from a Category 5 storm with lots of fury and hot air to a very sullen Tropical Storm system. The storm initially roared into and out of PEI, lashing airports and people as it left, but it weakened as it moved towards the mainland. It’s now centred over Ottawa, with the centre of it currently over the the Prime Minister’s Office. No plans by the PMO to apparently do anything however; they hope the storm will eventually go away; it would be rather inconvenient for them to have to act, despite other people advising them they’re sitting under a ticking time bomb – one never knows when a storm with this fury may re-strengthen and cause more damage to the country.

    Helena Guergis,

    What can one say?

Would be interesting to know if amybody can get their hands on the security video from the airport showing her explosion

Now wouldn’t that be a hoot

  • Sorry John; I don’t often agree much with Scotts Diatribes, but this one – it is funny. Lighten up folks, having a good laugh at the inane behaviour of our betters in the political class should always be encouraged.

Flashback to the Ruby Dallah affair, and the post at this blog concerning that issue:

“Jason Kenney รขโ‚ฌโ€œ ministerial overreach in the Ruby Dhalla nanny controversy?”

Strange. No similar calls to have the Liberal Party jettison her, in fact the post intended to somehow blame the government for that issue. I think the blog owner should change the picture of the parliament building on the top banner to a picture of the Magic Kingdom, because this blog is definitely Mickey Mouse … not credible, 90% tripe. Later.

  • Is the region between PEI and Ottawa safe? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I dunno Scott, totally valid topic to post on, Guergis’ tirade was nuts and totally uncalled for, but using a national disaster metaphor in the wake of the Chile earthquake and expected tsunamis this afternoon seems a bit poor taste. Perhaps it might be better to stick to the serious issues at hand, such as what she did (and perhaps why you think she should resign from cabinet) rather than all this “Hurricane Helena” stuff that isn’t very funny.

Oh spare us. Hurricane Helena is hilarious.

You can find that funny without it being insensitive to victims of real disasters, who, I’m sure, have better things to worry about at the moment.

@John, lighten up John, that stick in yer butt isn’t going to loosen itself.
